The Locked Look: A Male Point of View - By: LaTeisha Clément -
For those of you who may not know me, I’ll let you in on a little something. I admire guys with a beautiful head of locs! For some women, a man must have a great job, a life savings, and a summer home. Well not in my book. He can work at Burger King for all I care. Just give me a 6 foot man with some neat locs and we’ve got ourselves a deal! It speaks volumes for a man, telling me four things:
1) He is patient, because locks take time and care to cultivate, 2) He is naturally attractive, 3) He is confident enough to go against the mainstream look and 4) He appreciates all things natural. However, when I see Mr. Lock with Ms. Just for Me Hair Relaxer, I get a tad bit confused. Thankfully, I have three men who agreed to set the record straight.
When it comes to women, “hair doesn’t matter”, says Noel Busey, a 27-year old vegan. Noel is a Nazarite who bases his hair growth on Numbers 6 and Acts 21 in the Bible. According to Scripture, a Nazarite is a male or female who vows to be separate unto the Lord and be holy. They cannot eat or drink certain things such as liquor, nor cut their hair until the days of the vow are fulfilled. This only covers some of their beliefs. But despite the cultural lifestyle, Noel’s potential counterpart is not obligated to these values. He’ll date any woman. She can have a perm and even eat meat. “When God talks about those who eat meat and those who don’t, He said, ‘Don’t condemn them’” , Noel says.
On the other hand Lloyd G. Williams, a 37 year old real estate broker of Williams, Gerard and Hughes, and sound technician for Sylvia’s Soul Food restaurant, is very particular and observant. Though hair says a lot about a person, “I don’t necessarily hate on folks with the weaves, but don’t let me see thread hanging from the weave tracks. However, once I got serious, hair [really] "didn’t matter." He let God have the last word in his quest for Mrs. Williams and recently celebrated two years of marriage with his wife Karen on December 24th.
Lastly, there is 25 year-old Jonathan Thomas who loves locks. "I think it’s sexy when girls have them." As an admirer of natural beauty, he finds it shameful that some women won’t even work out because of their hair. He notes that childhood insecurity plays a part. “Just be happy with what you have.”
Well, there you have it. I guess I didn’t have it all figured out. A woman does not necessarily have to be natural to attract a man with locks. Some men prefer their women natural, while others don’t mind a little creamy crack. Some guys think a natural woman is on an intellectual plateau, and for others, virgin coils are not a deal breaker. It all depends on the individual. What is your point of view on the topic?

14" Doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man have long hair, it is a SHAME unto him?"
also for woman I Corinthians 11:6
6" For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
15" But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
Please read the entire 11th chapter of I Corinthians for a better understanding.
Also about number 6, when jesus came the old testament was replaced with the NEW one. The old testament was the law. There is a new one (testament) and you should follow it if you are trying to live right and go to heaven. I just thought I should let you know (noel and others).
